No, Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) does not appear in Happy Gilmore 2 as a cast member or in any official capacity tied to the film. While Happy Gilmore 2 reunites many cast and crew from the 1996 original, MJF is not listed in any credible cast or crew sources for the project. This clarification addresses confusion stemming from his high-profile WWE contract signing appearance, which some viewers conflated with a film role.
Status of MJF in Happy Gilmore 2
As of the latest publicly available casting and production records, MJF has no involvement in Happy Gilmore 2. The film’s announced cast focuses on returning actors and new comedic additions aligned with the sports comedy revival, and MJF is not referenced in any studio or official talent announcements. Claims of his participation are not supported by reliable sources and likely arise from his viral presence in sports entertainment media.
What MJF Is Known For
Maxwell Jacob Friedman is a professional wrestler and commentator, widely recognized for his work with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) as a top heel and for his promos across major wrestling storylines. His persona as a self-styled ‘Entrepreneur of Evil’ has made him a prominent figure in modern sports entertainment. He is not known for roles in feature films outside occasional WWE-related productions.
Common Sources of Confusion
Confusion often arises because MJF appears in WWE programming, which is sometimes edited into clips that resemble movie scenes. Additionally, his high-visibility contract signing for his AEW deal was promoted widely and may be misremembered as a film role by casual observers. These factors can create an impression of crossover that is not supported by casting databases or industry announcements.

Why These Rumors Persist
Entertainment rumors often spread quickly online, especially when a popular personality like MJF is involved. Social media posts, doctored images, and speculative headlines can make unverified claims seem plausible. In MJF’s case, his expressive promos and larger-than-life character lead some to assume he would fit naturally into a visible comedy project, even when production details say otherwise.
How to Verify Celebrity Appearances
To confirm whether a celebrity is part of a film or show, consult official studio announcements, press releases from the production company, or reputable entertainment news outlets that cite talent listings. IMDb and other cast databases are helpful, but discrepancies sometimes occur before final casting is locked. When no credible source lists a person in a project, it is safest to treat that information as unconfirmed.
